Three SAGDB players to compete in IPT

 

The u/18 inter-provincial tournament (IPT) is the top even for junior golfers in South Africa. Every year, the SA Junior Golf Foundation (SAJGF) holds the compeition to bring together the most talented youngsters from around the country.

Sello sizzles in Free State golf
In four years, Sello Lebeko has gone from a young man drifting aimlessly through life to becoming one of the Free State's latest young golf stars and a member of the Under-18 provincial team.
Lebeko will make his debut for the Free State in the Under-18 Interprovincial Tournament in Durban at the end of this year.

Michelle de Vries is one of the few women in South African golf who is making an impact at every level of the game. Most notably, she is excelling in her role as the head coach of the South African Golf Development Board's (SAGDB) Border Region.

Experts help top SAGDB players and coaches
The top players and coaches from the SA Golf Development Board (SAGDB) programmes across the country recently came together for a special training camp in Johannesburg. The purpose of the camp was for the SAGDB's technical PGA advisor, Grant Hepburn, to work with the leading talent in the country and equip the coaches with additional skills for nurturing this potential in their regions.

SAGDB players excel at Katberg tournament
  Four learners from the SA Golf Development Board (SAGDB) programme in Border were picked for their provincial team that played the recent Katberg inter-provincial tournament. Lusanda Dikileyo competed for the boys u/16 team, Zethu Myeki played in the girls division, and Chuma Adonis and Mangaliso Mnotho were selected for the u/12 team.

Development in Motherwell receives a boost from SMS
  The Eastern Cape is a vital area for golf development due to the strong culture of sport that exists in the region. To support the continued growth of golf in this area, Security Management Solutions (SMS) has become the latest organisation to financially "adopt" a SA Golf Development Board (SAGDB) coaching chapter.

About the SAGDB

Founded in 1999, the SA Golf Development Board (SAGDB) is the only body officially tasked with growing the game of golf in South Africa. The SAGDB is a non-profit organisation (with section 18A donations tax exemption status) and is fully endorsed by government and all of South Africa's official golfing bodies. Through its PGA-approved coaching programme, the board currently has the capacity to coach 3,500 children per week in ten regions. The SAGDB is sponsored by SAA, City Lodge, the Pro Shop, ProRange and ExpandaSign.
