Inter-provincial success for SAGDB players

As confirmation of the excellent work being done by the SA Golf Development Board (SAGDB) across the country, eleven of the board's players were selected to represent their respective provinces during April. The players competed at u/12 and u/14 level at the Fish River Challenge

Success for golfing girls in Ekurhuleni

One of the key growth areas for the SA Golf Development Board is girls. With women's golf growing worldwide, the SAGDB is encouraging more girls to take up the sport and benefit from the life skills it teaches.

This approach is paying off in Ekurhuleni. For the first time since 2006 the region has two girls playing in Junior Golf Foundation tournaments. 13-year old Mapule Ditshego and 14-year old Lerato Mokou are testing their talents against the best young golfers in the region. More...

Do you know what 10 000 golf balls look like?

Children in the South African Golf Development Board coaching programme in Gauteng found out what 10 000 golf balls placed together looks like when The Sunshine Tour handed over 10,000 Titleist golf balls to the SAGDB at a small ceremony at Vodacom World of Golf during March.

"We have been giving our range balls to the SAGDB every year after the summer swing of the Sunshine Tour," said the tour's chief rules official Theo Manyama at the handover. More...
